- Significant improvement in service: The upgrade enhanced government departments’ response times, network quality, customer service efficiency, bandwidth allocation, and reduced operational costs.
Business Challenges and Objectives
The client faced various critical challenges due to their traditional networks, including scalability issues, lack of flexibility, inconsistent performance, security vulnerabilities, and interoperability problems, resulting in complex management and high maintenance costs. Additionally, their aging core network was nearing its end with obsolete technologies. The client needed to implement new architectural blocks to address these issues, develop strategic plans, and innovate their products and services. Aiming to future-proof their organization in an ever-evolving digital landscape, the client decided to move to modern, flexible, and scalable network solutions.
The client engaged In2IT to design and implement a Next Generation Network (NGN) with Huawei Technology, connecting over 27 Government Point of Presence (POP) sites, including super POPs, data centers, and disaster recovery sites nationwide.
The In2IT Solution
The In2IT team worked closely with the client and stakeholders to conceptualize, construct, and implement an advanced NGN solution using Huawei technology, including core routers, core switches, access switches, and SD-WAN solutions. Our dedicated team of over 30 members ensured seamless deployment and provided round-the-clock operational support. The project began with assessing the existing network and rigorous testing to ensure smooth integration between the old Cisco network and the new Huawei NGN.
After successful integration, In2IT rolled out the NGN at a major Point of Presence (POP), including core routers and core and access switches. This established a robust foundation and allowed for early issue detection and resolution. In subsequent phases, the NGN core network was then systematically expanded to all 27 POP sites nationwide. This approach ensured seamless interconnectivity and optimal functionality across the entire network, meeting the client’s extensive geographical coverage requirements. The phased strategy allowed for meticulous planning, rigorous testing, and gradual scaling, guaranteeing project success and exceeding client expectations.

Business Outcomes & Benefits

Efficient migration planning enabled a swift rollout to all 27 POP sites, completing the initial ramp-up phase in under one month ahead of schedule. This rapid deployment minimized downtime and disruptions, ensuring uninterrupted operations. We effectively managed, monitored, and reported network performance using advanced NMS tools, promptly addressing emerging issues. Comprehensive in-house training provided end-users with the skills needed to manage and operate the new system, empowering the client to utilize the updated network infrastructure fully and resulting in enhanced performance and reliability.
With over 3,500 customers relying on ICT services through the NGN, this upgrade significantly improved government departments’ response times and network quality. It optimized customer service efficiency, bandwidth allocation, and operational costs.
